Russ has more than 50 years of broad international experience in program and project management, as well as in operations and engineering management. He has experienced three basic careers:
· Management Consultant in project and strategic management for 26 years:
Archibald Associates, IPS Associates, CPM Systems Inc., and Booz, Allen & Hamilton. He has consulted in 12 countries on 4 continents to large and small companies in telecommunications, information technology, industrial, engineering, construction, consumer product and service sectors, plus federal and local government agencies and international development banks. Russ has also presented expert witness testimony on nuclear power plant and pipeline construction projects, and on litigation involving project management software application packages.
· Corporation Executive and Engineer:
12 years as project manager and senior executive in telecommunications (ITT Corp.) and in automotive manufacturing (Bendix Corp.) in France, India and the United States; and 3 years as a mechanical engineer in petroleum refinery construction and operation (Creole Petroleum, Venezuela.)
· United States Air Force Officer and Aerospace Corporation Manager
and Engineer:
9 years as a Senior Pilot, project officer, design and project engineer and branch manager with the USAF Air Research and Development Command; and 4 years as design engineer and department manager with Aerojet General Corp., Hughes Aircraft Company, and Hughes Dynamics, Inc.
Author and Teacher:
Russ has written extensively on project and
engineering management and has taught numerous public and private seminars and courses in project management in ten countries. For ten years in the 1970s he was on the faculty of the Engineering and Management Course at the University of California Los Angeles/UCLA and has presented project management courses at several other major universities in the United States and Europe.
